4-Agree
5-Strongly Agree

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

I think that being able to see previous students' blogs was detrimental to our learning, as many groups simply recreated prior methodology rather than formulating original methods for completing the task.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

I would include use of multiple models AFTER resampling, so that we could see the effects of our new samples in various interpolation methods. I know that our group might have gotten a better final product if we had explored some of the other options post- resurveying.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

This assignment was important because we'll actually be using the products we create here in future assignments for navigation in the field. That said, I think that if we knew what we were going to be using them for later on, we would have been able to create more specific maps for our purposes.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

For this assignment, it was interesting to use the flight simulator as a means for getting used to the UAS. I think though, that we weren't able to get the full effect of mission preparation and execution with just the simulator. Maybe doing some kind of activity where students work in groups and each has different duties (ie PIC PAC etc). I'm not sure how this could be integrated using the simulator.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

Reviewing the concepts associated with setting up a geodatabase and its domains and attributes is very important. Equally important is being able to explain it to someone else. I think that encouraging students to create their own geodatabase for a different application could be useful to solidify the concepts.

5-Strongly Agree

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

I would not have much to change about this assignment, as it was a kind of test run for data collection. Going along with my idea for the last assignment, students could be encouraged to collect data for their own geodatabases, to get a feel for it in a different context.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

Taking the microclimate points was much smoother this time around. However, including more guidelines for analysis would have been helpful.

1-Strongly Disagree

5-Strongly Agree

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

Learning how to conduct this survey was very valuable. I think that it was unnecessary to collect so many features, though. Due to time constraints, my group was unable to collect the minimum but feel that we learned the concepts thoroughly.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

Learning about multiple ways to accomplish a single goal was very valuable. Operating the total station was very difficult though, and it would have been useful to have more support from other classmates. Increasing the size of the groups for this exercise would have been helpful. It made a world of difference adding two extra brains into the mix for my group's struggle.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

Lots of groups were clustered together during the activity. Re-arranging the order that we go to each point between groups would make it a group effort without the rest of the class.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

This activity was a relatively easy one, we just used the GPS to plot points in a course that we set up. I think that we could have done a different activity in place of this one, since it was pretty basic.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

It was interesting to learn more about UAS, and to see it in action. I dont know of any way that the students could have gotten more involved because of how complex and important the proper methodology is in running UAS missions. Basically, I wouldn't expect the class to be flying UAV's because of our minimal training.
